Shawn Wells was a national merit scholar attending Babson College with the goal of a successful job in one of the top 500 companies. One book, Optimum Sports Nutrition by Dr. Michael Colgan, changed his life’s path dramatically. He continued to research performance-based nutrition and to commit to weight training and basketball. Graduating at the top of his class with a double major in marketing and information systems, he decided to pursue his newfound career goals; the business world would have to wait.

Mr. Wells’ post-graduate work done at UNC Greensboro in exercise sports science, nutrition and biochemistry reinforced his passion as dreams gave way to reality. His academic work led to his admission into the distinguished Master's program for Nutrition Science at UNC Chapel Hill. During his studies at Chapel Hill, he interned with the School of Medicine in the groundbreaking Nutrition in Medicine project - a series of interactive software modules employed at every medical school in the country. He contributed on the Dietary Supplements module for this project using his expertise in sports nutrition. Mr. Wells graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with his Master's of Public Health in Nutritional Biochemistry and, after a number of clinical rotations, also obtained the certification of Registered Dietitian (RD).

Working in acute care as a Chief Clinical Dietitian as well as rehabilitation/long-term care, he continued his clinical work and is distinguished in critical care and complex disease pathology. Nutritional intervention often involves enteral and parenteral (IV) support. Mr. Wells' commitment to mastery of his field and his respect for the patient are beyond reproach. He has done work and research in life extension and is deeply affected by the fragility of life.

While practicing clinically, Mr. Wells held the position of Chief Scientific Officer with the highly reputable sports nutrition company MAN Sports out of San Diego, CA. After a few short years his name became well known and his knowledge was sought after. Known by his online following as "Androgenic" he built a lasting foundation with the consumers and the companies. With deep respect for MAN Sports and its CEO Joey Rodrigues, he spearheaded a new venture: Zone Halo Research (ZHR).

Zone Halo Research, LLC was established to bring knowledge, expertise, ethics, efficacy and passion to an industry often viewed with skepticism. With the FDA, legal bodies, sporting commissions’ bans and countless controversies swirling around the dietary supplement industry now more than ever, ZHR can calm the storm and bring value and reassurance to clients and consumers with novel, safe and effective formulations.

Reinforcing these goals and echoing Mr. Wells' passions, Dana Houser, MD, MHSA, CISSN is a consultant to Zone Halo Research and partners in certain projects as CEO of Medical Muscle. He is currently working on his residency in Columbus, OH. Dr. Houser's expertise is endocrinology and is rooted in acute and critical care. Dr. Houser is a true asset to ZHR and lends unheralded credibility to an already unparalleled consulting company.

ZHR's formulations are consumer-driven with efficacy and client-driven sales. Zone Halo Research offers write-ups, marketing materials, and more. Sourcing, testing, patent procedures, marketing, distribution are parts of the business model for ZHR. Our resources will be your resources.
